April 2023 A to Z Blog Challenge – Theme Reveal

I’ve done the April A-Z challenge on both my personal and professional blogs in the past. This year I am choosing to do it on my professional site, DB McNicol, as well as this one. So, for this site’s theme, I am choosing My Life in Black & White where I will share a B&W photo for each of the letters, A to Z. I hope you will join in the fun and follow my posts in both spots!

Thank you for visiting my site and a double thank you for honoring my copyright.

  1. Cool idea! Color photography is great for some things, but there really is something special about black and white.

    1. This will all be photos converted from color to B&W, but I still like the way they look. I’m a huge Ansel Adams fan and know how the contrasts can impact.

  2. Love seeing daily images (wordless Wednesday has always been one of my favorites and I should probably add it back to my blog).

    1. I used to do a lot of flash fiction but had to back off in order to write more books. LOL! I also did a bit in the past of sharing photos I’ve taken over the last twenty years but paused about 18 months ago so thought this would be fun.

  3. I used to share photos for author use years ago as well as write weekly flash fiction (500-1000 words) based on images my blog readers would submit. I am hoping that following all of you through the A-Z challenge increases my motivation again

    1. Thy are both easy ones, already prescheduled. I’m really looking forward to seeing veryone else’s posts.

    1. It’s going to be a fun month – just need to stay focused on my current novel that is overdue.

  4. I love this idea. I’m really excited about all the fun blogs and different ideas. I’ll definitely return to see your photos

  5. I looked at both your blogs and both themes interested me. I don’t do B&W photography, which is strange because I enjoy it so much when I see the work of others. I look forward to this, and thank you for visiting my blog. Alana ramblinwitham

    1. I don’t photograph in B&W but picked these as ones that would look good that way. Keeping my fingers crossed they come across. Welcome!

  6. Hi Donna,
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. I take lots of photos and upload to Flickr where I have over 5000 images saved – most in colour but a few family history scans that are black and white.

I will be keen to see your different images.

    1. Thanks so much for dropping by. I wish I had B&W photos that I took during my childhood, but they are long gone. The photos in the challenge were all taken in color and I have changed them to B&W, hoping it enhances them and not detract from them.

    2. I upload mine to SmugMug, I’ve had an account there for over twenty years. Small annual fee, but I know how to navigate the site so I just stick with it.

  7. Black and White photos are so evocative. I am going to check out your series. Looking forward to this.
